Autumn 2006
Another pallet network
A new pallet network - the first in at least four years - has been set up by ex-TPN member Mike Chamberlain. Although not officially launched until February, the network, called Global Pallet Systems, already has 26 members covering 40 per cent of the UK's post codes. Calls received from potential customers have been routed to the nearest member. "I ran Chamberlain Distribution, which was a member of The Pallet Network," explains Chamberlain. "But I don't think there's a future in traditional haulage; the future lies in pallet networks." GPS's drive-through central hub will be located just outside Stourbridge on the M5 on a 3.5-acre site.
