ByBox expands to France
ByBox, the overnight parts distribution company, has set up a box-bank network and logistics service in the Ile de France region of northern France, and plans to build develop around 40 locker-bank locations there. The initiative was spearheaded by Dan Turner, whose Dynamid unattended delivery range was absorbed by ByBox several years ago. Later the company aims to expand the service to other regions, probably starting at Lyon, and to Belgium and the Netherlands. ByBox's box-bank manufacturing facility always has been in France, and it has a strong presence there in the left-luggage locker market (in which it is a world leader). The company's turnover has grown from £119,000 in 2002 to a predicted £21 million this year, and it now claims to be the UK's leading parts delivery network operator. It has just gained a ranking in this year's Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100, coming in at number 12, and is one of only two Midlands companies in the top 50. ByBox started out offering a consumer drop-off service, which remains available.
