North West trial for Kiala drop-off service

Kiala, the Belgian-based drop-off point operator for home deliveries, has started a limited UK operation in Manchester, Liverpool and Preston, working with one main customer.

Unlike other such systems, Kiala's also involves a consolidation and delivery service, in which consignments are assembled and delivered in bulk to high street drop-off points. The company is believed to have been holding back from a nationwide launch until all components are in place and fully functioning.

In France, where Kiala has a major presence, the company recently appointed contractor Wincanton to handle elements of its logistics operation.
