Furniture producer Scan-Thors, an exclusive supplier to the Debenhams retail chain, has appointed TNT Home, the home delivery arm of TNT Logistics UK, to handle home deliveries of its cabinet furniture.

TNT has been delivering upholstery products for the company throughout the UK since the start of this year, but the extension is seen as underlining Scan-Thors' confidence in the operation.

Goods are received at TNT Home's distribution centres in Pensnett, West Midlands and Heywood, North Manchester, for onward delivery to customers' homes. There is a 28-day lead time from order placement in store to final delivery, so TNT Home's call centre staff phone customers to arrange delivery once the goods are due in the distribution centres.

The operation will involve about 300 deliveries a week.
