Better home delivery fleet information from Microlise
If you're running a fleet of home delivery vehicles and want to improve their efficiency, logistics systems specialist Microlise could have an interesting solution for you. It has brought together two of its existing solutions, Map Client and its Transport Management Centre, to create a system that is said to help managers to 'contextualise' fleet availability and activity at the same time as providing easy communication with mobile workers. It harnesses the company's tracking, telematics and routing systems to get more out of them. Microlise says home delivery operators should see particular benefits, since the solution is said to give them more control and visibility over vehicles and drivers than ever before. The point-to point-routing engine, said to provide accurate-to-the-minute arrival times each time a vehicle reports in, should make it possible to give precise delivery advice to customers, as well as allowing the time and resources to react in the instance of a predicted late delivery. Microlise says the solution has also been designed to help in the user's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.
