The PODXchange web portal system from NetDespatch for handling real-time proof of delivery messaging has been extended in a version 2 release.

The new version include a resilient hosted web tracking solution for major parcel networks and other users of mobile handheld terminals.

PODXchange, which was first described in F&E early last year, can be used by shippers who use multiple carriers, providing a central repository for POD information; and by parcels carriers and distribution companies requiring a complete hosted solution or an easy method of obtaining PODs and signatures from their subcontractors.

Any GPRS-enabled device can be used to capture PODs and transmit them to PODXchange, and all data received can be converted into the correctly encoded data format (such as EDI, XML or CSV) for onward transmission to any specified destination.
