Weighing and measuring made easy?
![]() Weighing and dimensioning consignments on a one-off basis during the despatch process can be awkward and time-consuming, but a Toronto-based company, ExpressCube, has come up with an all-in-one solution that might fit the bill. It's called the ExpressCube Featherweight Gold-M, and is described as a mobile warehouse turnkey solution that incorporates its existing laser-free, ExpressCube 250. It is mounted on a sturdy workstation cart with a rechargeable battery power source, and is said to be able to operate for up 12 hours on one charge. The company adds that can interface in real time with most warehouse management systems. As examples of possible uses, the company says it is ideal for 'fly-in' operations involving multiple warehouses; green field warehouse operations involving new facilities; warehouse turnarounds in concert with a new WMS system; and occasional use when new products and boxes must be sized and weighed. It can be used for populating WMS systems on inbound cartons and master cartons, or for random weighing/dimensioning of palletised boxes expected to be the same weight and dimensions.
